Harriet’s Alter Ego’s Backyard Couture #3

Harriet’s Alter Ego Backyard Couture event hosted by The Agytators was filled with shopping, live music, a photography exhibit and great food and drinks.

Let’s start with the shopping. Harriet’s Alter Ego is a lively boutique in Brooklyn that sells their own handmade designs as well as clothing and jewelry from independent designers. Another bonus is their wide selection on SADE cosmetics. From the front of the store there’s a crowd of people going through the racks and inside is no different. The backyard is where you will find other vendors like Guerilla Soul, Funky Lobes, Born as a Raggamuffin and Cut Out Apparel. Plus tasty eats from A Squared S Squared Catering.

While listening to sounds from DJ Lynnee Denise, Radio Rose and Ahficionados, you can catch the photography exhibit from a list of talented photographers. Finally, the night is completed with a live performance by Nola Darling and Malene Younglao.

I want to say I had an amazing time and one the highlights of the event was showing your love by signing the wall within the store. Thanks to Harriet’s Alter Ego we can take a look at some great pics. Enjoy!!

Affecting Change

Smal details can have big Impacts

We new the questions would eventually come. What’s going on in Brooklyn? Why are there so many shows.

‘Fashion Indie has copied your format what are you going to do about it.’,

Absolutely nothing but tap ourselves on the back. When we posted our dates and a brief outline of our format we intended to make newcomers aware of the labor day traditions, in their February anouncement they boasted of eight days , in Williamsburg 30 designers , 50 models, They have since spread that across Brooklyn in Boutiques and etc. We have used it since 2005 but that is not our format that is Genuine Brooklyn Style…. we just know our market and apparently the fashion world knows us!

BrooklynFashionWeek.com is the only Brooklyn Fashion Week event designed by a wide open group of Brooklyn designers. Yes designed. We have realized since Brooklyn Style that we were the ones with a stake in this business and spent 2005 to date designing and testing our format. We have held the domain since 2005/6 as we took on the challenge of creating a program that works!

A trade and consumer event it is open to any designer who is ready to show and/or sell. There is a small marketing fee and we are working with a broader cross section of the Brooklyn Business community to provide servicesand support. during The “Prelude ‘to fashion week. Our Technology focus will take fashion presentationn and marketing and ecommerce virtual, portable and mobile, We will also introduce 2d Barcode technology as well aslive andtaped straming!

Afric Elance

Angèle Garcia de Medeiros  founded Afic Elance in 1995, she is currently revitalising and upgrading theline1
a Senegal native of Cap Verdian and Senegalese descent,
Afric’Elance is a luxurious line of high quality clothing that can best be described as traditional African elegance with an "haute couture" twist.

The concept of Afric’Elance began with Mme de Medeiros’ simple vision: to design unique, one-of-a-kind pieces refelective of her rich African heritage and Parisian fashion sense.

The result: works of art that, when worn, elevates wearers to regally stylish heights.

Afric’Elance.  Get lifted!
